What we need…

We are looking for a Cyber Defense Engineer with a focus in DevSecOps to support and maintain COCC’s managed Cybersecurity services. The position will focus on process improvement & automation and will be responsible for maintaining infrastructure (including upgrades and patches). In addition, the Engineer will be responsible for analysis of existing platforms and participate in the process to enhance current solutions. The candidate should have a comfort level working with a diverse set of individuals and their backgrounds, must be able to work without supervision and use advanced knowledge to make judgement calls

What you’ll do…

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for COCC security platforms and services.
Design, develop and implement changes for COCC managed security services through scripting and automation.
Manage enterprise grade security equipment as a platform owner.
Assess security configurations for enhancements/fixes and implementations.
Manage intermediate and advanced projects
Train and mentor junior analysts.
Ability to work some weekends, and some weeks require work over 40 hours
What you’ll bring…

Bachelor’s degree and or three or more years’ experience supporting security-oriented network services, will consider appropriate work experience and/or relevant certifications
GSEC, GCSA
A desire to continually learn and improve
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
A strong understanding of Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP(S), DNS, and SMTP.
Experience operating and maintaining enterprise-class security platforms using best practices (firewalls, web proxies, DLP, email encryption, etc.)
Scripting knowledge in one or more common languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
Experience with configuration management / IaC tools a plus (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
Experience with public cloud services a plus (AWS, Azure, etc.)
The salary range of this position is $80,000 - $120,000
